If there's one thing i've learnt from this experienc...the best thing you can do to a cancer patient is give 100% effort to keeping their morale high. Because the morale contributes directly to the disease progression. In my case my father's deterioration started when the deppression kicked in. Keeping high spirits is a vital element n surviving cancer...make her feel as if life's normal...continue to ask her for her opinion and even assistance if applicable, and if you sense the slightest deppresion sypmtom (which you have to watch out very carefully for) immediatly contact you doctor and explore possible prescribtion of anti-deppresants or even therapy...really...its that important.
