I have just recently joined this forum. Maybe I could gain insight or offer insight. i was diagnosed with HCC in Jan 2007. I found the tumor myself after being very good with physical exams and always keeping my medical appts for preventive care. I had no symptoms and my liver enzymes never showed a problem. I felt a hardened area in the solar plexus area and asked my doc to send me in for a sono. There was a 9cm mass hanging off the L lobe of my liver. Immediately I was sent to Denver Colo where I underwent a liver resection. The tumor was removed along with a small piece of the L lobe. lucky for me, it had not spread to the nodes of vessels and was an encapsulated stage 1 tumor. i have no hx of Hepatitis or cirrhosis or other liver disease. The docs could not understand it. So now, i go every 3 mos for AFp and every 6 mos for MRI. So far so good and I feel well. it was a shock and came out of nowhere.

I am careful now with diet and have gone to Mexico to a wonderful clinic specializing in immunotherapy and detox. So, i am blessed and very grateful that something led my hand to that area and I found that mass. i wish everyone much health and many blessings. Take care Iris
