MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

I found my first lipoma when I was 15. The doctors said it was harmless, and not to worry about it. I joined the Navy at 18 and had 4 or 5 by then, none hurt and they were fairly small. At 28, I now have around 80, and I just had 11 removed and sent off for biopsy. They are hurting me now. Some are in places that are uncomfortable when I am positioned a certain way (sitting in a chair the ones in my back hurt, laying down the ones on my sides hurt) and some hurt at random times and are sharp pain.

As of right now I haven't been diagnosed with anything. I just have lipomas. I find that hard to understand, but I am past asking questions that don't matter and I am looking for some sort of answers. I found the site by looking for Chinese medicine to treat lipomas, and I hope to find some interesting ideas or treatments that others have tried to treat them. It isnt any fun having 11 incisions and 37 staples to remove lipomas, especially when it will take 10 more surgeries to get them all out. I want to get rid of them permanently and all of the doctors are clueless.

Dercum's disease is something I heard of recently, anyone here familiar with that?

Hi Jash,

I didn't see if you posted how it is going since your lipoma removals.

hopefully you found your way to the Dercum's support group.

I'll look for you next time I visit the Dercum's group.

I joined both back in July 09 when my doc told me that lipomas never hurt, and I did a search online to find out why and when they do cause it is clear mine is creates pain.

hugs
