MDJunction to me

Claire138"It's been a year since I joined the Parkinson's Disease Support Group on MDJunction and all I can say is thank you all for the support, compassion and friendship I've received and been able to give as well. It was a lonely night when I came upon this site, but the nights aren't that lonely anymore...
With gratitude to all...

I am new to the group...my name is Claire and I got a diagnoses of mutiple lipomas about 6 months ago, I guess caused by my Fibromyalgia. I'm about to go to the Dr. to set up to have them removed because they are causing too much pain. Has anybody here had any removed and have they come back? I have a lot that I have to get removed, for those who have had them removed, how long is the recovery time? Well, just wanted to say hi!

Hi Claire!

I also have lipomas - many. Some are painful and some are not. But I have Dercum's Disease where lipomas are painful. When people with Dercum's have them removed, they generally come back. I'd be curious to know about the experience of others with multiple lipomas, too. Did they come back?

Take care,

Diane

Hi Claire,

I hope this reaches you before your surgery. It seems that when one has the painful lipomas removed it is important to be wrapped with special wraps in those areas after the surgery.

sorry, if I reached you too late. and I hope your recovery is progressing well. If you've not had your surgery yet, perhaps your surgeon would be willing to consult Dr Herbst about the appropriate after care to prescribe for you.

hugs
