After a punch biopsy, I was diagnosed with LP on April 7, 2008. I have never been so miserable in my entire life. I am 44 years old and this stuff has just about driven me crazy. I have found some things that are slowly causing it to go away. First, I soaked in 1/4 cup baking soda to a tub of cool water 3 times a day. The only thing I put on my skin is olive oil. After three days of baking soda, I started soaking in 1/8 cup of sea salt in cool water once per day. I am seeing improvement, but I think it will take at least a month to go away. To anyone who has this, your doctor probably won't be able to tell you much about it. I felt like my doctor didn't care most of the time so I decided to start doing things on my own. It seems the baking soda neutralizes the LP and causes the bumps to decrease. It worked for me anyways.

Thanks for your messages. Sorry I haven't replied but I went on vacation. I had been soaking in baking soda but stopped while on vacation because I got in the ocean every day. You would not believe the change in me!!! All the ones on my stomach and back went away in about three days. My legs still have a ways to go but I feel soooo much better. I am still taking soriatane and won't see my doctor until July 15th. I am not sure if I will ever break out again but I sure hope not. If I do, then I know to start the baking soda soaks right away. Thanks for caring.

No, no hair loss. I went to Myrtle Beach and got in the ocean every day for seven days. The salt water dried up all of my lp. I still have some places from where I scratched and made sores but those are healing too. I firmly believe that when I started soaking in baking soda (3 days) then switched to sea salt (5 days), that is what started to make them go away. Then going to the beach and the ocean water finished healing me. I put nothing on my skin except olive oil and in 2 days my skin didn't feel like sandpaper anymore. I know if I break out again to start the baking soda right away. I also changed my laundry detergent to "no dye and no perfumes". I just wish I had known all this earlier and not suffered for 3 months. Thanks again for your support and I hope you feel great. You have been a blessing to me.

I will definitely try the baking soda. I am miserable with the itching and my legs look awful. I have sea salt also I might add to my bath water. Thanks for the tips. My dermotologist offered no relief.. just diagnosed it.
