Hi,

I have a very sweet young man who has Luekemia that refused treatment. He says that he first started having symptoms about a year ago and ignored them. He now bleeds through his eyes, ears nose, and is loosing his teeth. Can someone please explain to me what I have in store in the future and how long he will last like this. His bowels have not worked in about a week, but he still refuses to go for any treatment. Please help me understan this a lttle more.

What type of Leukemia does he have? I do not want to advise anything that I am not sure of. I have CML type Leukemia, and have been doing very well for 13 years living with it.

I would be able to help more if I knew more. There are different Leukemia's, and different stages you go through.

I am not sure, but I think it's the one affects the lymphnodes, or maybe all of it does. I do know that he refused any type of treatment, and he stays confused a lot. He gets angry at my daughter and talks very ugly to her. After a little while he says he's sorry for being so mean. My heart goes out to him, when he's screaming out in pain. He says the sores that have come up on his body shoots pain all through his bones. I try to comfort him and keep him calm, it works for a little while, then he's angry all over again.

If he does not want to go for help, there is nothing you can do. I am getting the impression that you are not a relative. I wish I could help you more, or give him some advice. Just try to convince him to go get help.

Hi ebc and welcome to the group. Suzzie is right, if he is refusing treatment there isn't much you can do. The best you can do is try to convince him to see a doctor for pain control. Without know what type of leukemia he has I really can't say much more except it sounds like he is in a very critical state. Please keep us posted.

Hugs,

nj

Why does luekemia cause large bleeding sores all over his body? He has lost some teeth too. He went for blood work today andthey told him he had no luekemia cells at all in his body. They told him his blood was very red and looked good. Is this normal when a person has luekemia, or has it really gone away on it's own? I know about other cancers and with treatent even on Ovarina Cancer, the Ca125 never acutally got to 0, but the numbers went way down and would rise way back pretty fast. I am very confused, but am Thanking God for a complete Miracle too.

Something is terribly wrong with this information your getting. Leukemia is not like your common cold, it does not go away. It only gets worse with time till it kills you unless you get treatment. This sounds more like AIDS then Leukemia. Apparently your not getting the whole story. Did you get this information from somebody else, besides the person who is supposedly claiming he has Leukemia. I wish I could be of more help, but without all the details its so hard. I will not guess at what is going on.

This info is coming from him. He has just recently married my daughter, but his story just does not sound right. Do the bleeding sores come with Luekemia? He has not began to loose weight and the sores are beginning to heal. I am very confused and am starting to believe that he has been lying to us.

Hi ebc,

Bleeding sores is not leukemia and in my husband's case he lost a drastic amount of weight before we even knew what was going on. I have only a guess about what might be going on. Since I have dealt with alot of medical issues maybe ask him if he is a recovering addict. Alot of street drugs cause bleeding sores and will cause your teeth to fall out, especially methamphetamines or meth. I am not trying to uspet anyone especially you ebc, but I don't believe he has leukemia. I'm very curious now, so please keep us posted.

Hugs

Hi Ebc: We do not mean to scare or upset you, but Nancy has had a lot of experience in the medical field, and I worked in the medical field for specialists before I had to stop working due to my Leukemia.

I guarantee this is not Leukemia, and now I am thinking on the same track as Nancy with all of this.

Please take care of your daughter. She should be your first concern right now. Like I said something is wrong, and your not getting the whole story. You better sit down with your daughter and have a long talk, because her husband is leaving out a lot of facts. I am more worried about your daughters well being. Please write anytime, and we will try to help to answer you or guide you in the right direction.

This is a Leukemia discussion board, so please feel free to send peronal messages if you need to ask about anything else.
