hello everyone. i am 17 years old and one of my good friends was diagnosed with Lafora disease about a year and a half ago. I have been wondering for a while now how long this lasts? Her doctor recently told her she has barely gotten worse over the last 6 month with the help of her medication, so what does that mean? Right now, her condition is as follows. She always needs help walking, very unstable. Hard time talking, very slow response, cannot read or write. Okay memory, can respond to questions after a period of time and still laughs and smiles. Has her good and bad days, sometimes hallucinates at night. So my question is how much longer does she have? I am going to UC Davis next year to play soccer and don't want to leave her. |
