Hi everyone,

I've been lactose intolerant for about 1.5-2 years now... it took me a while to realize it was lactose; I needed some time to mourn. After I finally banned it completely from my diet, I felt such an immediate relief. I have been extremely careful, because the slightest infraction upsets my digestive track badly. Recently however, in the past few weeks, things have not been going well again anymore, and I am starting to wonder if there could be some other intolerance that is reari...

The forums might be old, but the information might be new for you as you seek some kind of answers to the issues dealing with Lactose intolerance.

My daughters has this and suffers at times from her love for lactose products. It's not just taking tablets to help digest the milk products, it's about learning how to steer your loved one in the right direction.

Please read through the topics and see if any might meet your needs. We have several lurkers here who do browse these threads.

I need to check the filler contents of every tablet I take, over-the-counter or prescription for lactose. You can get a lactose-free Tylenol tablet. You can usually get a liguid form (for children) of various allergy medicines that do not contain lactose at the drugstore. You have to read on the carton what the ingredients are.
I am trying to find some form of warafin sulphate (coumadin) that has no lactose. So far, the only source I could find is Rosemont Pharmaceuticals in England which mak...

Well said. This forum has so much information. It is good that you are resourcing its nuggets of good health.

Keep up the good fight. I know my daughter struggles with this as cheese is her favorite food. She loves it but she is very limited.

Her mother and I are very careful how much dairy she consumes.

I was intolerance tested and the results came back as Cow's Milk, Cheese (cow's) intolerance. But not yogurt, but surely yogurt's are made from cow's milk?
Also I was not intolerant to sheep or goat's milk. So this means I can have sheep and goat's cheese, yogurts and milk. Right?
As it's cow's only, does this mean that I'm lactose intolerant too?
Thanks for any help....

Hi, it's me, Hiin! Sorry it's been so long since I have visited here. I wanted to update my status. I have now adjusted to my new diet, and things for the most part are going smoothly. There have been a few slight bumps in the road as far as discovering something in a food that is dairy disquised as another name, but luckily I have been at home at the time the after effects take place (you all know what I'm talking about). I'm feeling pretty good and not so depressed about it. Positive attitude ...

Hi, I am new as well to this group. I have been glued to my computer reading and researching this subject. They even put lactose in medicines!
I read every single label very carefully and look up anything that has
tose at the end of it. I'm sure I will settle into a routine soon enough but when you are afraid to go out to eat for fear of an accident because of
what you ate, it's frustrating. That's why I came here, to get information

My 7 year old stepdaughter was having accidents at school too, although it was because of a behavioral issue. We, unfortunately, had to result to having her wear Pull-Ups or they were going to remove her from school. We were afraid that she would be teased for having accidents and then we feared she'd be teased for wearing Pull-ups. So we had to dress her in a way that the pull ups would not be seen. Kids are horribly cruel, even at such a young age. Do what you can to help her get through the d...

Once again I am referencing this group to see if anyone has any thoughts on how often pills can be used?

My daughter (8 yrs old) is lactose intolerant. She takes pills for help in eating dairy products.

1. Is there a limit on how much dairy someone should eat per day or per week?

2. When do you know enough dairy is enough for that day?

3. Are there any links that can help me with the use of these pills?

Thanks,

I got many PMs from members asking to upload their own videos. At this point we can't add to the library . but hope we will be able to soon, we understand the importance of that!

and another (not related) topic...Two weeks ago we added to the (now available on chrome too) the Groupon application that shows you the hottest daily deals in your town, every day. We received great feedback from the people using the toolbar so I suggest trying it out!!!

I have a daughter who suffers with Lactose Intolerance and it is a very difficult thing for her. She is petite and has trouble with her digestion.

She is seven years old and this past week she 'had an accident'. When she got in the car to come home she was very very quiet. She even got in the back seat of the van.

When we got home, she called me into the bathroom and showed me that her pants where completely soiled and her brown shorts was her only saving grace.

Since 'Mommy' was not...

Well we have determined that my little Holly has lactose intolerance. In some ways, I am relieved that this is her problem, but also sad.

Holly is six and she is at a point where she can easily be embarrassed. We are starting to define things around our diets that will alert us to possible problems for her.

We also have a ten year old daughter, Elly. She has tummy aches at time when she eats ice cream for a desert after dinner. So she is most tolerant than Holly, but now we know they b...
