I had total knee replacement surgery Nov-2009 was put in nursing home for therapy wee I developed an infection. The surgery had to be redone. An infectious disease control dr was called in. I was given IV antibodies for 6 weeks. It was bad enough I almost lost my leg. Neither surgeon or infectious disease control Dr.will admit it was an infection. They tell me they don't know what it was or what caused it. My family Dr. said that is what it was. I had to get my family Dr. and theripist to help me get back to work because surgeon would not let me. Since then my hours were cut at work too.

I still in alot of pain especially at night or trying to sleep. My knee pops and cracks. At times it feels tight and just does not want to work. I still limp and have to use a cane. I am so tired of it. My Husband says I walk worse now then before the surgery.

I have also heard that the knee replacement I had is in recall. I have tried to get info and contact an Attorney but can't find it.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions you can give.

Also have degenerate arthitis and the pain can be awful. Also have RLS. Always looking for help and advice on those too.

I am experiencing post op TKR problems. I "fired" my original surgeon and P/T. I am with my pain management MD and she referred me to a holistic type of P/T. I am doing a bit better, but I am suffering from post op arthrofibrosis. My original surgeon kept throwing the nasty pain pills at me, oxycontin and oxycodene, of which made me fell awful. Also, my surgeon spent little time with me at my office visits, which was bothersome to me. I had a manipulation about 8 weeks after the original surgery. The manipulation only makde things worse. alot more pain and swelling. I suggest to shop around for a good one on one P/T. And ask alot of questions and raise your concerns with your Dr. and P/T. If your are not happy with your surgeon, get a second opinion.

Good luck from a fellow TKR sufferer.

I unnderstnad and feel for you-I'm 7 weeks out and have pain if I'm up on my knee for 30 to 45 minutes-feels like dead weight also.

I go back to work tomorrow and I'm scared how it will go.

I have not seen my surgeon since I was in the hospital, and when I tell my pt this they just say it takes time.

Hang in there and remember you have support on here.

Hi everybody,

I'm a PT and I would to know about dr Gianluca Palmas. I've eard that dr Palmas is successful testing a new treatment for TKA and Zimmer and Springer are closely following him.
