I am wanting to learn more about Stage 3 kidney cancer. My mother in law, 82, has a cancerous tumor surrounding and in her kidney; basically there is no functioning kidney left. 2-3 lymph nodes are involved. No cancer in the bone or other organs as far as the tests show.

She is trying to decide if she should have the surgery at her age. Although the dr did explain that no surgery would mean about 6 months to live with severe pain.

How can I best support her?
