I have posted a video on YouTube that I received in an email from a friend.

This video is of vital importance. Please watch it and share it with every woman you know. They will thank you.

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

It is about Inflammatory Breast Cancer. It was a newsclip from the Seattle Cancer Alliance. IBC is a very fast-spreading, and the most aggressive type of cancer, but to my shock, many doctors are not even aware of it.

At the time of the newsclip, three out of four cancer helplines didn't know about it. Even the Susan G. Koman foundation was unaware of it. This has since been changed. The video was quite informative and showed how it looks.

It is not discovered by a lump in the breast. In fact, most patients either thought, or were told by their doctors that they just had a bug bite on their breasts and were actually sent home with anti-biotics to treat bug bites!

Well naturally, the "bites" didn't heal. By the time the appearance of a bug bite grows into a mottled mass of redness and an inverted nipple, it is in or nearing stage four cancer. There is no stage five.

On the video, they told about a girl who died at age sixteen from IBC, because she was too embarrassed to tell her mom that her breast looked funny. That was sad.

Symptoms to watch for are:

Rapid increase in breast size

Skin hot to the touch

Redness

Persistant itching

Thickening of the breast tissue

Important note: It is not seen by a mammogram. It can only be diagnosed by an MRI or a biopsy. It shows up as sheets of cancer, as opposed to a lump.

The video told me all I needed to know, but since you can't view, I'm sure you could find some info online. I would start with the Seattle Cancer Alliance first.

Thanks, Starr! I had NO idea! I appreciate you telling me this. I'm not at an increased risk for breast cancer, as it doesn't run in my family, but this doesn't sound like something that you have to be at an increased risk for! I'm glad to hear you are helping to educate us all. This IS of utmost importance. Thanks for sharing, hun!

I'm an Advocate

Starr, I need your help on something???I have been doing some research, on my own on this and what it tells me is this could be caused by meds, that my husband is taking. My husbands left breast is swollen, and it is hard in some spots, and tender around the nipple. i am making him a doctor's appointment tomorrow, cause they are not open today....I am wondering in what it could be....

See I have tumor's in both of my breast's three on each side but they are not growing and they don't hurt....I have been there and I have done it.......
