I am new here....

i went get too much into detail about my history with IBS but i will make 1 simple suggestion which was given to me by my new Gastro doc and it seems to be helping. take fiber supplements! i know i know... i looked at my doc like he was crazy when he told me that cause i've always only known fiber to be for those that are constipated all the time and that was far from my problem. the way my doc explained it to me was that fiber can help those that suffer from diarahea too because it sucks up the extra fluids from your foods as it passes thru your system. the fiber detects if there's too much liquid and will absorb some of it. long story for me short... i tried it and after about 3 days it actually started helping me. of course if i get upset or stressed it comes back but it seems to be not as bad since i've been taking fiber supplements. they also come in capsules (easier for me) AND they come as a low gas formula. maybe give that a try and see if it helps. good luck!! i also had to do the stool samples, colonoscopy, and endoscopy... i get my results on friday. wish me luck!

but weemon i'm sorry that doesn't work for you... it definitely sounds like much more than just a simple IBS. but with the colonoscopys, the right meds, and a good doc things will hopefully turn around soon for you. i'm sorry you're having to go thru such turmoil!
