Hi,

My name is Jackie and I am 24 yrs old, I have been suffering with digestive problems for over a year and a half now. I have had multiple doctors tell me I have IBS-C, but I have yet to find absolutely anything to actually help me. I am on a diet of what feels like barely anything, I eat no red meat, pork, beans, starches, tomatoes, citrus fruits, unrefined sugars and caffeine. It can be pretty depressing going to the grocery store. After cutting all of these foods out I still feel nauseous and I still am constipated; I never feel empty. I have gained almost 90 lbs since I became ill. I barely eat and keep track of my caloric intake which is 500-1200 cal a day (I am typically at about 800). I still gain weight, the doctor says it genetics or I am not following a strict enough diet. To be honest, the weight gain is just as disturbing to me as the daily vomiting (mostly bile) that occurs. I guess I would just like some reassurance that there is something that may help me.

Thank you all for even just reading my complaining.

Oh gosh, there must be something wrong, if you are still gaining weight! Can you try another doctor? I didn't have any of those symptoms, so can't give you any advice on what worked for me. I hope you can get to the bottom of this. You can't live like this. Someone has to help! Please let us know whatyou find out.

hugs, violett

Thank you Violett,

I have seen 4 doctors now, but I am trying to get into the University of Chicago. It isn't easy because most of the doctors do not take IBS patients. I honestly have yet to read or talk to another person who has had similar symptoms. Thank you again!

Good advice. I don't have Celiac, but am sensitive to gluten. IT made a big difference when I quit having anything with gluten.

Hello Funcooker,

I was diagnosed with IBS-M (where you can be impacted to diarrhea to runny almost water poop)about 2 years ago and it has been nothing but hell (of course I have other health issues as well). We've tried different diets...none worked. We tried all kinds of different anti-

spasmatic drugs and they didn't work. I see a new gastro doctor in October for now I have to take liquid phenagan 30 minutes before I take my medications and 30 minutes before each meal and liquid loratab for the pain. My gastro doctor wanted to do exploratory surgery on my abdomen but my lung doctor said no way...not right now so...but I know how it feels to have to RUN to the bathroom....sometimes I haven't made it to the bathroom...I had an 'accident' in a store once. Luckily it wasn't too bad but I didn't go to that store again for a L---o---n---g time. I carry a set of clothes with me now.

I hope you've been able to get a handle on your problem.

Hugs,

Kathleen
