Hi Everyone,

Horrible irritable bowel isn't it. I got diagnosed with this after all the tests came back clear eg colonoscopy, capusule endoscopy and the endoscopy.

It really makes me ill this ibs; pain and urgent diarrohea to get rid of the pain. Sometimes it happens after meals, and yet the gp says it is ibs and gives me tablets. What is the point of taking them, if it not there all the time?

Do you feel frustrated on not being taken seriously and them not thinking we are so ill with it? I am under a gastroentrologist at the moment, but I will guess he will discharge me next time after the results come back normal.

Hello Starflower,

Welcome to the group.

I have several chronic illnesses but the IBS takes the cake. One day the belly is flat...next day you look like you're 7 months pregnant. Then there's the nausea, the vomiting, the diarrhea. Plus I have rapid emptying. That's when your food, pills, and such bypass the enzymes that break down stuff so you pass undigested pills, food etc. Then there's the belching and passing gas, abdominal pain...I could go on.

I am glad you found MDJunction...you'll find a lot of resources on this site and you'll make wonderful, understanding friends. Just know that you are NOT alone.

IBS is a difficult, painful, frustrating disorder. It not only affects your body but your emotional self as well. My gastro doctor recommends seeing a therapist.

I totally understand what you're going through. You hang in there. I hope you find a way to deal with this crap.Dizzy
