Hello I am a new member. I am a 39 year old lady. I've had strange abdominal pains that are sharp and intermittent. These pains occur always on my left side next to my navel at my waistline. The pain feels localized. However this week the pain went into my side

and back area. My side and back area were very tender. I went to the emergency room and they did an abdominal cat scan in which they only found a 16mm gallstone in my gallbladder, they sent me home and told me to call the surgeon at the free clinic for an appointment.

I have no insurance and I am unemployed, I'm not convinced that the pain I'm having is gallbladder related. I have no idea what is wrong and I'm scared.

Could this be diverticulitis? I do have irregular periods because I am in perimenopause also.

Anyways I'm tired of being in pain, and I have no health insurance.

I dont have any family around. I feel alone and in pain.

That's not fun.

Thanks for the members who are always so cheerful and supportive.

Hello 55tia,

Hello and welcome to the group.

I am by NO MEANS a doctor but you may be right. Gallbladder pain is usually on the right side of the body, not the left whereas the pain from is on the left and usually feels more like a bad stomach ache. Diverticulitis is a very serious medical condition and can even be fatal if left untreated.

Please go back to the ER and tell them that you need the cat-scan to be checked for diverticulitis or go see if the surgeon can see you ASAP. It's my understanding that in such an emergency the ER or clinic CANNOT turn you away because of your inability to pay. Don't take no for an answer.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please let me know how it goes okay?

Sending many healing hugs your way!

Hugs,

Kathleen
