Be more specific, Bea (it's okay here). What symptoms are you inquiring about? I rarely have any pain, and if I do, it's usually during a strained bowel movement and I feel the pain in my abdomen, mostly. My IBS was always constipation until this last year when meds turned it around to the other side.  Anyway, I first noticed a severe bloating problem. Then I realized I hadn't "gone" in several days. I would pump in laxatives, go, then bulk up again. I thought I was doing all the right things....extra fiber, yogurt, trying to drink more fluids, but all of this just sat in my system, fermenting and bloating. I couln't get it out. I couldn't GO! If you don't have a bowel movement in four or five days, and you think back to all tht you've eaten in that time, it's pretty scary that it's all just sitting there and not moving. Talk about clogged plumbing. |

I'm not sure about the symptoms. The only thing I've complained to the doctor about (not mine, the surgeon) was that my right side hurt. He would ask me if food made things different, or if passing stool made it different. I told him no. It hurt weather or not I went to the bathroom...and it didn't change with anything I ate. I'm not real sure about the bloating (I'm kinda squishy..lol) but I haven't noticed my clothes feeling different...if anything, they've been looser.
