Is it possible to wear out a toilet seat? I can't stay off the darn thing.

Never trust a fart!Tongue

What meds do any of you take that makes this stop.

I don't even want to eat for fear of staying on the toilet the rest of the day.

At least I'm not vomiting right now...

can that be considered a blessing or just a delay?

I'm miserble, I hate myself for being so needy and everyone else does too.

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO MY PITY PARTY! I'll be celebrating in the "lounge" if yall have one here at IBS

OOPPS... no lounge we are having the party here!!!!

I have loosened the nuts and bolts a few times on the seat and I have broke it. A lot of us go through being afraid to eat for the same fear of what will happen immediately after wards. Only your doctor can prescribe what he/she thinks is best as far as medications go but Lotronex has been approved for diarrhea.

There are two drugs that specifically treat irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): alosetron (Lotronex) and tegaserod (Zelnorm). Your doctor may prescribe other medicines such as antidiarrheals or antidepressants to assist with other health issues caused by IBS.

I know what you mean all to well, never trust gasSmile

I'm an Advocate

Thanks for the invite to your Pity Party. I have one every so often too. It is good to give in to it now and then, vent the frustrations, and get it out of your system. OOPS. Not good phrasing for the IBS group, when we do so much of getting something out of our systems. Sick

My doctor told me to use Immodium as needed. It always works for me. I only take one, because two causes constipation. I've not tried any of those other drugs.

May the New Year bring improved health to you and to us all.

Violet

a pity party could help get some frustrations out of your system, but you have to be careful it doesn't lead to a depression.

Agreed, Melissa, I think you can definitely take it took far, if you aren't careful! But there are some days I need my own pity party! LOL

Hugs,

Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

My doctor put me on pericolace a few years ago which is stool softener with mild laxative. It's over the counter and has generic so not too expensive. It has helped me. He started me on citrucel many years ago also. Either one I would check with your doctor before starting anything. I take immodium too sometimes when the darrhea is bad. Especially if it's a busy day to help get thru it. Hugs and God Bless. Bretta

Oh and as far as the toilet goes. When we built our house 9 years ago, the toilet in master bath wobbled some. I was really scared of breaking the toilet so they caulked all around it to make it level. So I can most definitely understand worrying about the toilet.

The only medical knowledge I have is my own experiences. Bretta

you can buy the generic softeners and they work just as good.
