so i tried elmiron, and it didnt work as well as several other failed meds...i take prosed ds, zantac, & hydroxizine for my bladder, although with the recall and issues prosed isnt available right now...i have had 4 hydrodistentions, tried dmso, done pelvic floor pt, water pt, and biofeedback...my urologist has referred me to 3 other drs, all urologists, for new ideas and treatments including philip hanno in philadelphia...i am kind losing it right now cause nothing seems to help for long, if at all...my dr wants me to try interstim but im not 100% sure im on board...does anyone have it? what do you think of it? he also suggested botox for the baldder, again, any feedback? the 3rd option i was given was anti-rejection drugs but was told that the benefits were not thrilling and the risks of developing lymphoma was considerable, so i doubt im going there...i feel lost and frustrated and low...

Managing Chronic Pain:
Your Basic Rights:
People with chronic pain are often “people pleasers.” We find it hard to express our needs and require that others respect them. And when our needs are not met, tension is increased and our pain seems worse. But you do have the same basic rights that you grant to others.

You have the right to:
1.Act in a way that promotes dignity and self-respect.
2.Be treated with respect.
3.Make mistakes.
4.Do less than you are humanly capable of doing.
5.Change your mind.
6.Ask for what you want.
7.Take time to slow down and think before you act.
8.Ask for information.
9.Ask for help or assistance.
10.Feel good about yourself.
11.Disagree.
12.Not have to explain everything you do and think.
13.Say "no" and not feel guilty.
14.Ask why.
15.Be listened to and taken seriously when expressing your feelings.

Read and reread these rights so that you not only know them by heart, but so that they become part of your daily life.

there was a lady on here that had the interstim but i am sorry i cant remember her name right now, to much fog, last time i did talk to her it had helped w/her frequency alot. i believe she was a teacher...would have to go back n read thru old posts. sorry nothing seems to help right now...i never even started the elmirom, dr wanted at least 6 months on it but heck the cost of it was very high so the hydroxyzine was my choice. i know it doesnt repair but we kinda thought my problems may have been brought on by severe allergies. probably will never know for sure but the hydroxyzine does help me. have u tried a tens unit?
many hugs,
