Hi all,

I'm new to this group, but started out in the alcoholism and depression groups and am doing fairly well now except for really frustrating insomnia. Now that I physically feel better after months of dealing with a physical issue, I'm ready to get back to some of my old, enjoyable activities. Only thing is, I can't seem to get any sleep! Very new problem for me, but it's been going on for months now. I have an appointment with an acupuncturist next week to address this, along with the depression and anxiety. I will start out here by reading some of the member posts from the past!

Thanks River! I've taken the time to read a lot of the posts in the group and I can tell that you have many admirers. You are obviously a very caring, nurturing woman. I've been having sleep problems for a few weeks now, not that my sleep has been great since about January. I have been battling medical issues - toxic reaction to pesticide over-exposure and subsequent liver detox; self-medicating with alcohol; depression due to the long, rainy weather here in the "Great Northwest"; anxiety due to the medical issues...blah, blah. One think leads to the other? I'm not drinking now and I am not nearly as anxious, generally, but I still am having one heck of a time sleeping. I generally don't fall asleep until almost sunrise and then I can only sleep about 4 hours, if I'm lucky. I've got to get this turned around so I can go back to work! I haven't been able to work in 4 months and the monotony is definitely getting to me!!! Thanks for being here and I look forward to future communication.
