I absolutely despise the time change. As of last week, I had been getting up at 4:30. Since I am not adjusted to the time change in one day! it will be like getting up at 3:30! Can anyone say ugh!
I woke up at 1 slash 2 this morning, and one of the things I did was contact my congressmen. Anyone else who feels motivated, you can gripe to your congressmen by finding their e-mail addresses at, well crud, all my links would be for my state. I found the pages by googling contact congressman/my stat...

Hello.. Your husband sounds like me.. I too am bipolar.. I have tried 3 sleep studies with no success, because I was unable to fall asleep. I take 300 mg of trazadone, and have tried every med there is. I have been on a sleeping med since I was 13. I have been up for 36 hours, and mine comes and goes too. I also get social security for that. I thank God I dont have to get up and go to work everyday, because I make silly mistakes, and am not supposed to drive if I have been up for over 24 hours.....

I am ment to take my depression tablets when I go to bed but I am still awake 2-3 hours after taking them. I went to the doctor and he normally gives me Temazepam but he doesn't like giving them to me all the time cause they are apparently easy to get addicted to and I don't really like relying on tablets to make me sleep all the time, but think I might need to make a trip back to the doctor though...

Lunestra gave me the same taste and smell like you described. Not only that but the smell kept me awake all night. After Lunestra I bought a natural sleep aid on amazon (I'm not sure if I can quote brands here, so let me know if interested) and it worked out great for me without any addiction or discomfort. Now I don't even need it anymore, but I guess the effect varies depending on the case....

I hear ya. I feel the exact same way. Its a struggle enough working a 40+ hour week on 8 hours a night! Never mind only 1-4 hours a night. I really hope you can get some relief soon and maybe see a doc to get some prescribed meds? I am on some other meds which seem to help with the lack of sleep. Ive heard trazadone sp? is good for sleep issues. The thing to remember is that there are ways to combat the symptoms of this crappy disorder. All the best :)...

I have had to start staggering my sleep meds as my body becomes accustomed to them. so my doc has me go for a couple of weeks on one, then has me switch to a different type. if one lasts for longer. i will stay on it for more than the two weeks. but when it starts to loose its effectivness. i switch.

maybe this will help some of you..good luck....

CharlaG i hear where you are coming from yet as for me i have NO circadian rhythm, and doing a week long sleep study serial EEG all night for a week ,with the use of sleep meds i average 5-7 minutes of REM or deep sleep per night my brain asleep looks like a normal persons brain awake. I have taken anesthetic doses of many many drugs that would have made a normal person unconscious for days and rather than a peaceful slumber they have video tapes of me juggling 5 balls and telling jokes to the n...

Hi akelnme,

I don't know what new advice I could offer you. From your post, it appears you've already heard all the advice. I feel sad for your situation. I'm a recovering insomniac. My battle only lasted about 1 year....not since I was a child. So although I know what it's like getting very little sleep for months on end...I still wouldn't be able to relate to what you are going through.

I suppose you have seen behavioral sleep medicine specialists? These are different than sleep me...

Hi guys, I've suffered from insomnia / sleep issues nearly all my life, but my issue doesn't seem to be addressed anywhere I can find, I am completely unable to get up in the morning, even sometimes when I have sufficient sleep, as a result of this, I have missed out on things like job interviews, welfare payments, important meetings, not to mention all the friends I've unintentionally flaked on.

I don't suffer from depression, though I did at one point, and I have slight social anxiety, thou...
