i'm not that young anymore but i had my hysterectomy in my mid-twenties. although mine was done in parts because at that time, or maybe it was just the terrible docs i had, they didn't want to do an full hysterectomy on someone so young.

Scoff not the tears of the broken man,
for ridicule breeds emotional quicksand
Mourn not the spirit of the battered wife,
for pity grows nothing in the fields of life.
Turn no deaf ear to the anguished cries,
for ignorance is not bliss if the child dies.
Reach out with compassion and lend a hand,
to renew their faith in the kindness of man.
Give them strength to break free of the chains,
of a past so wrought with heartache and pain.
Nurture their courage to rise above,
by sowing hope through the seeds of love.

when i had my hysterectomy, my doc said forced menopause is much worse than natural. not sure if it is true or not (my doc was an idiot - literally.) i do know mine was severe and lasted over 10 years. a few years i was free of it. now i am having the same symptoms. not sure if it is a recurrance or just that i am wierd lol.

I had a hysterectomy when I was 25 for endometriosis. They left one ovary due to age and hormone but that just kept the endo growing. I had the last ovary out at 33 and started estrogen for 8 years. I went off the estrogen 5 years ago and some days still feel like I am going through menopause due to hot flashes and weight gain. I was hard to have that surgery so young and I hadn't had kids.

I hope you get to feeling good soon. It takes at least a few months to really start feeling better. Does your lower back hurt?

I am 46 now. Since you kept your ovaries you shouldn't have any real change in hormones or that is what they tell you. Your sex drive probably will improve since your uterus and the fibroids were a problem. Besides it is kind of liberating not having to worry about birth control anymore so that is good. I would definitely wait until you are fully healed though.

I heard that the reason the back hurts so much from this type of surgery is due to the way and amount of time one lays on op table. Not sure why but it is the one thing that bothered me the longest after each surgery. Keep a heating pad on it and see if that helps.

Don't overdue it or else it will take even longer to get your strength back.

That is good to know. I have been wanting to have sex,bue I now I need to wait. My husband is fixed for a long time. I had wanted to have childen with him. How long did the doctor say you had to wait. I heard at least 6 weeks. Yes I am trying to take it easy it is hard. Everyone in the house thinks I should be able to do everything all ready. Sometime last week I had to cry my eyes out. My husband through it was just pms. That was not it. IT did feel really good.Thank you. Did I tell you I have 2 kids. 17years old girl and 13years old son. And 2 step childen 20 boy 18 girl. They live in Florida

Thanks Love Lilli
