Shocked I thought I was handling this whole "hysterectomy" thing very well and then the hospital called yesterday to get information and I'm full of terror! I slept for 3 hours and woke up feeling like I'm going to throw up. My axiety is through the roof! I don't know if it's the surgery or hormones, since I am a week overdue on my period which NEVER happens (no, no chance I'm PG). I just need all the prayers I can get. I am so scared!

I completely understand where you are coming from. I was terrified for my hyster & they had to give me a mild sedative just after I got to the hospital. I was only 23 at the time of my hyster & I think that had a lot to do with my being scared. But after the surgery, I woke up with the knowing that I was no longet going to be in pain. I was no longer going to have incredible painful periods. My overall health was going to be better. All of those things have come true. I am extremely thankkful for the fact that my hysterectomy gave me my live back! You will get through this surgery without any complications & you will feel a thousand percent better when it is done. I will be praying for you tomorrow. I know its going to be hard, but please try & get as much sleep as you can tonight. Try to remind yourself that this is what is best for you healthwise.

Here when you need me,

Cathy

Hi pfinkum. I am just wondering how you are doing these days? How is the recovery process going? Remember to take it easy in the days & weeks ahead. Listen to your body & let it tell you how to deal with each minute of each day.

Here when you need me,

Cathy

Breathe. Try to relax as much as you can. Having a hysterectomy is scary, even if you've waited 25 years to get it. Just remember that this is what you need to be healthy and that you are not alone. We are all praying for you.

I'm an Advocate

I hope that all went well with the surgery. Your in my thoughts and prayers.
I am not a doctor so everything I say is from my experience, my opinion, or advice from research I've done. You should always consult with your health care professional.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Yesterday is history...tomorrow is a mystery....today is a gift.... that's why it is called the present.
