MDJunction to me

Hazeldee"MDJunction means that I no longer have to feel like I am the only person in
the world with pericarditis. It means that I can talk to others who know
how stressful and how painful having pericarditis can be. It means that I
connect with others to discuss treatments that have or haven't worked for us, so that we have a leg to stand on. I think that having my friends at
MDJunction has allowed me to better mentally and emotionally process my
diagnosis and what it means to me. I feel so lucky to have this community
available to me. I use MDJunction as a way to use my experience to help
others. Reaching out to help others is the only solace I have found since
being diagnosed with pericarditis.

Hello Everyone,

I haven't been here for a while because I was supposed to actually be better. You know how it is - busy. I had the blood drained from those blood vessels that were bleeding and was out of work for three more weeks. I went back to work just as state testing started and had to be on my feet all day. This pulled something loose again, so now I have more blood pooled in my abdomen. I have to see the surgeon on Tues. to see what has to be done to fix it. The real problem comes in with our new boss. We had a regime change in the midst of my last bleeding incident, and this guy is convinced that I have some permanent condition that will keep me from working forever. I can't get him to understand that it was doing my job the way he wanted it done that caused this newest problem. I think part of the problem is that my doctors are convinced that teaching is still a sedintary(sp?) position like it was when we were kids. They don't understand that I'm on my feet all day while I'm at work and don't really have an option about that. So now, not only do I have to worry about something inside of me bleeding, I also have to worry about not having a job come next school year (it's a good bet I won't be back this year). My husband says to tell him where to stick it and worry about my health instead of my job, that we'll figure something out and get through it. But I can't help worrying, you know? Has anyone else had to deal with complications that just won't stop?

Thanks.

Hi,

I have to go back for more surgery a year later now and from what I've read here, we're not the only ones. To complicate things even more, I live in chronic pain from a fall over a decade ago when I fractured my neck. Yes, I too, am tired of being broken and can understand the back and forth for surgeries and such. If it's not one thing, it's the other. (Grrr!) I have to go back now because the dr that did my hysterectomy cut a bunch of nerves deep deep inside which caused problems with my bowels. I'm really scared. I can't work. But one thing is certain and that is your husband is right; if you can at all swing it, quit your job! Your health comes first. You're important to him and you should be important to yourself. You'll never be able to teach if you totally ruin your health either. You have a right to be tired. we all do sometimes; that's why we need to take the time to nurture ourselves and allow others to take care of us too.

Consider yourself hugged,

Rusalka

Hi! I had to have 6 laparoscopies after my hyster to remove more clumps of endo that appeared. I am hoping that I don't have to have anymore, but I know that that might happen. Hopefully your boss will understand & that your doctor will be able to help you more with everything that is going on.

Here when you need me,

Cathy
