Hi there. 2 weeks post op is still very early in your recovery. I don't know if you had abdominal or vaginal surgery. If you had abdominal, I'm sorry but it will be a long road. At least your doc was honest with you. My doc & I've heard most docs say how you're going to be all better at 6 weeks. That is a crock! There are many variables like what led you to the hyst & your lifestyle (active vs sedentary, etc.). I had abdominal hyst 2 years & 3 months ago & am still not myself.

You didn't say if you kept your ovaries or not. I did keep my ovaries & they went into shock at first, but did even out after a few weeks.

I'm trying to remember what it was like 2 weeks post op. I believe I still had the sensation that my tongue was burned. Was craving ANYTHING cherry. Oh at 2 weeks I remember dying to know if I could still have an orgasm. So I tried "outercourse" with myself & my little electric friend & it worked...yay! Wasn't the same & hasn't been the same, but I still can have them, just different, not as intense because my uterus is gone. I think I was still very angry at 2 wks (hormones out of whack).

Do NOT do too much! Your body tells you when it's too much, as I'm sure you have found out by now. No lifting, no vaccuuming, no bringing in the groceries, no laundry unless you lift the wet clothes just a little at a time. If you have family there, you have to make them do everything. Your job is still to be a princess right now.

The website hystersisters.com saved my sanity throughout my hyst experience. There is always someone there who is also unable to sleep at 4 am & can answer your questions or give you support. Our loved ones just cannot understand what we're going through & it is so important to have that support.

At 2 weeks I was still in extreme pain, the pain didn't go away for over a year. I still have pain if I do too much or move the wrong way. I still can't lie on my tummy. My tummy is a pooch from not being able to use those muscles for 2 years.

You MUST go to hystersisters.com! It doesn't take the pain away but it provides support you cannot find anywhere else.

Hugs!
