Hello every one. I'm new to Hypothyroidism and support groups. I have been on Levothyroxin for 4 months now and they raised my level once so far. I still feel very sluggish, I wake up feel exhusted after sleeping 8 hours, and I haven't lost any weight. Any ideas on what I should do? (oh, I'm 24 and just had a baby. I found out that my thyroid stopped working 3 months after giving birth.)Kissing

Hello, Bekaht53,

Welcome to our group ~~~ we are happy to have you join us.

Congrats on the birth of your new baby ~~~They are wonderful little miracles. Smile

I know it is hard to do and can be very frustrating but you just need to have (lots of) patience. Thyroids definitely seem to have minds of their own and it does take awhile for the right level of med to help you in getting to feel better.

Mine is checked every 3 months and is changed nearly every time Sad .

When I was dx d, my thyroid was totally non-functioning and we ve been working 2 years to ""convince"" it that it needs to work correctly.

Again, we re glad you re here ~~~ Please come often ~~~ We will be glad to help you in any way we can.

Marilyn

Welcome Bekaht! I just joined as well, and I seem to be experiencing the same things. Although I wasn't diagnosed after a pregnancy (have never had children), I also am still feeling sluggish and haven't lost any weight.

Seems like we just need to be patient but I guess everyone can see it's not easy. Smile This place is great for wisdom, advice and support. Glad you found it too!

bekaht53,

I think a lot of how you feel is common and I hope goes away with time. Hypothyroidism is no picnic. I know with my small dose of levothyroxine (25mgs) I feel better than I have in years. I wonder now how long my thyroid was out of whack before we discovered it. I hope things start to smooth out for you soon. I know how lousy you feel. Take care and welcome to the group!
