Hi everyone,

My name is Carrie, I'm 22 years old, fourth year college student with one year left, Human Resource Management major, and just diagnosed within the past two weeks. For several years I've dealt with depression, lack of energy, eating disorders, irritability, and other minor things that I would never have thought would have all been coming from one thing. I have been really going through a tough time recently and for the first time in my life sought help back in January. I had never told anyone about the eating disorders, but thought it would be best to tell my mother and my boyfriend after the meeting as a way of seeking support from the two ppl that know me best. I attended one meeting a week for a little over a month until one day Dr. Camp seemed to just out of no where have a spark of inspiration. "Have you ever been tested for thyroid problems?" She went on to explain 80% of women with eating disorders have thyroid problems and prompted me to get some blood work done. I went as soon as our appointment was over and during spring break was told that my TSH levels were high. I was somewhat happy, I will finally be able to feel healthy and normal. Within the past week however it dawned on me just how long it will take to finally be well. I've been really depressed the past few days with everything else seeming to pile on from school, my relationships, and my sorority. I realized that I have to talk to whoever I can depend on whenever it gets to be too much, I can't bear it all on my own. I know it's gonna take a while, but I can work through this and it will make me a stronger person.
