Hey everyone,

I haven't posted in a while and I am sorry for that. I want to let everyone know that this hypothyroidism is very hard as well all know. I have had the anxiety and I am a 21 year old male. I had to drop out of school for the semester just so I can get my life "back." There is A LOT of stuff that is related to the thyroid. I have done so much research on the thyroid that it is ridiculous. I am now taking Armour thyroid and I am going to start taking it at night. Many have said that if you take Thyroid medication at night that it will clear the "brain fog." Scott suggested to me that I should look at getting tested for my adrenals and Vitamin D deficiency since they correlate. It's true, if you Google any of those terms with the word, 'hypothyroidism' you will see a ton of findings.

I have started to take a lot of medication/vitamins just to get through the day - I'm not even use to taking medication so it has been difficult, but the biggest challenge is the depression. Some say that anti-depressants (SSRI's which are Zoloft, Paxil, Lexapro, etc) actually can hurt you if you have adrenal fatigue because it doesn't balance out the ACTH (Adrenocorticotropic hormone) well - which affects the thryoid. Now, I would ask your doctor about Armour thyroid (it's currently on back order by the FDA) or another natural thyroid supplement that has a T4/T3 combo. Something that has really helped me lately is 2000IU of Vitamin D-3 which can be found at your local pharmacy/Wal-Mart. Mine was only $5 here in the States. PLEASE talk to your Doctor before you start D-3 if you take it, I know its a Vitamin and it there is no harm but there could be medical conditions that could prevent you from taking the D-3, I am obviously not a Doctor - just somebody who has been through this. I am also taking JuicePlus which is a Fruit/Veggie vitamin type deal that has really helped me with my depression. I am also on Ativan but I am going to ask about getting put on a prescription like "Xanax" because of the negative effect that it has on your adrenals. Ativan is relly only for temporary use ("As needed") and therefore the effect that it has on patients seems to go away after about a months use - this is a common side effect though.

Another thing that has helped me is not searching too much stuff on the internet. Yes, it is great but don't let it take over your life. If you truly want to feel better get your heart beating. Go on a walk/run.

Hope this helps you guys. Thanks Scott for the tip about Vitamin D!

cor3lyf - I also suggest that you (and everyone else) look into this website. If you are having a hard time getting through to your Doctor's head then print this graph out and measure your temperature. Also, for those that have a problem with the "Brain Fog" issues, be sure to look into ADHD medication. You will be surprised how much it can help.

Here is the link to the websie -

May God bless you all,
