MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

I'm taking 50mcg Levothyroxine in the am on an empty stomach. an hour later I take Vit D3, B12, Fishoil, Magnesium and a Multivitamin. I break up taking some at breakfast and some at lunch time. I am beyond exhaustion. Is there a supplement or vitamin I am missing that will help me. I feel I am a hot mess, trapped in a foreign body. I started 2 months ago on Levo.. 25mcg and it was increased to 50mcg a week ago (bloodwork indicated I have an underactive Thyroid). The fatigue and exhaustion and listless, lifeless feeling is at its all time worst. I actually missed worked today. I have a difficult time moving the one foot in front of the other (so to speak). I am at a good weight BMI of 22, eat healthy and excercise every other day. HELP?!Sad

do not take any supplement such as calcuim or iron within 4 hours of taking your levo. Personally, I don't take any vitamins within 4 hours of taking Levo. Good Luck! It takes awhile to get better.

Thanks, maybe I should take them at lunch instead?

Because of interactions of the above supplements (posted by Gannon) I take all of my vitamins, and whatnot before I go to sleep. I don't want to take any chances. But if lunch for you is at least 4 hours after you wake up you should be fine.

From reading up vitamin d is the main thing to take with hypo. But b12 supposedly helps with fatigue. I take selenium because its supposed to aid the thyroid.

Im new here too but I just read what u posted and im totally against levothyroxine, tell ur endo to switch u to the real stuff synthroid, some say it makes no difference but i have been fighting this for 2 years now and can tell a huge change in how i feel, also it was messing with my monthly cycle and yes i gained weight. I was trieng to get pregnant which is dang near impossible when ur cycle is off but it took two months after my doc changed me and tadaa im pregnant. Im on a way higher dose then u,normally im 125 but since im preggers im 150. It takes time to get it just right and it seems to me every doc has a different opinion on what level our thyroid is considered normal, so make sure u have a good endo and i dont take any vitamins and some days i feel like im dragging butt, for the most part tho, major difference and i feel great. Also im on a steady weight loss even while pregnant of 2lbs a month, and im not swollen like i was before. And if ur insurance wants u to take the generic ur doc can sign ur med refill and they have to give u the real stuff. I am so thankful something has worked for me, I hope it does u.
