Hi Guys

I'm just wondering if any Hashi's sufferers have found that they have more problems with their immune system after starting medication than before?

I know that thyroid sufferers, generally have a weak immune system, but mines seems to be worse after starting on medication.

I'm not sure why, but I suffer from constant infections in my kidneys any little sore I have is quickly infected. I have developed and insane itching over most of my body, which for the last few weeks has been pretty badly infected. I seem to have random infections in my bowel and other various body parts and organs. Has anybody else had this happen and if so how do/did you deal with it?

I had problems with my immune system before, in such that it would seem to take me 3 times longer than anybody else to recover from illnesses like the flu and would seem to be worse than anybody else.

I'm a little stuck on this one, so any help would be greatly appreciatedSmile

Thank you

Hi

Sorry you and the kidney infections. I hardly have kidney infections but I can easily get infected especially on my respiratory systems. Like you, it takes me longer to recover from each infections. I'm not sure if it is worsening before or after treatment but I noticed that I can easily get infected compare to those days.

Hi Pinkapple

Thanks for your replySmile Yeah it's kinda weird, I used to end up with bronchitis all the time, which would last for about 2 months. I found that getting the flu jab every year, has made that a lot less frequent. As for the rest I'm not sure? It just seems that since I started taking thyroxine other infections have been worse and more frequent. I guess it could be something else other than my thyroid, as my GP doc has referred me to a gastroenterologist. Unfortunately my Endo specialist was bit useless, as when I explained this all to him, he just kept saying "well that's weird", he didn't exactly full me with confidence lol. But I'm pretty stubborn, so I'll keep going till I get some answersSmile
