I had thyroid cancer at 17. Total thyroidectomy, also removal of all four parathyroids. Muscle removed, nerve to eye causing drooping. Vocal cord paralysis.

Update: I have had trouble with calcium since 1977. Level has been from 4 to 17. I have no idea about PTH, but I am pretty sure it is high.

High blood pressure, myalgia, bone pain, severe constipation with bloating.

I need a dr. who will listen to me. I am applying for disability, 2 years ago. Have hearing Oct. 14. Some of dr's I went to didn't send medical history in so I was denied.

Can anyone help me find dr? I am in Mississippi but will drive anywhere. My dr. here said "You look healthy. I dont see why you need to see endocrine dr,

I was in research at NIH but for some reason my calcium went up to 13, decreased injection and went to 5.6.

I was working at hospital, went to ER. Ended up in coma. Dr. said I was exaggarating symptoms of cramping. Calcium was 7.1, but doesn't it register higher than you feel it is? Don't you have cramping when it is coming back up?

You all talk about brain fog, was that what caused coma? Dr's said I just wouldn't answer them, like I didn't even try.

The past 2 years have been hardest of my life. I ended up with my parents still unable to work. No money, worried about disability.

I hate when people complain about illnesses, but I do have hypoparathyroid alternating with hyperparathyroid, stage 3 kidney disease, myalgia, reflux, chronic pain, high blood pressure. I believe ALL of this is from no parathyroids.

Does anyone know anything about kidney failure from calcium? How long does it take to have to be on dialysis? My GFR is 37 now, was 16 at one point. I am not doing dialysis. So how long am I going to live??

I am to the point of not caring, why bother. Started on Savella, if it doesn't work I am giving up.

It is too much. I am nauseated all the time. Dr;s all just say "you are a drug addict, exaggarting."

Seems like no one really knows, family agree with dr's.

I wish I could get someone to meet with my family to explain how they feel. I could explain to their family what it is like

We could have meeting with families like convention and explain how we feel. They might believe more if other people have same problems.

Sorry to go on so long.
