mobey"MDJunction has become a lifeline to my recovery. I use this site as a daily coping tool where i can share my thoughts,my fears and ask ways to cope with living life with a illness. I also found new friends here and they have restore my faith in humanity. People everywhere come here to share same problems or solutions to problems we encounter in our lives. MDjunction is a wonderful site and has help not only myself but also my family and friends. I recommend this site to anyone who thinks they are alone dealing with an illness and also to those who have love ones who suffer from illnesses. I will keep spreading the word about MDJunction to organizations who deals with illnesses that would benefit having MDjunction as a support system.Bottom line is.. so I had surgery like about a year ago and now my insitions are hurting me

Is that a problem?

Should I call my NS?

If it's been a year, no it's not a problem and it's not necessary to contact your NS. Scar soreness can be caused by inflamation of scar tissue, or it can be a reaction to a soap you are using. Try taking an epsom salt bath and if possible soak it in there, make sure it's warm water...It will help cut down on any soreness and itching

You're very welcome. A tub of eppsom salt is quite cheap to buy a few pounds worth, only need a small amoount in water...Try using cream on it such as Vitamin E or something with a moisturizer, while dryness isn't a problem with scars such as your average skin dryness problems I find it helps (this is for scars other than the one on your head) but keep track of soaps/shampoos you're using and see if any make you react different than others
