MDJunction to me

djfilippone"Before I found this site I felt so alone.  Watching my daughter struggle with IH and being treated like she had two heads from doctors.    I have plenty of family and friends but there was nobody that really knew what she was going through.
I not only have support and love from others who will listen and share their
story, but I have made some forever friends.  Having this support site does make a difference to many.

Hi there I have been going to a clinic for over 2 years now....an the last 2 paps have been high risk, and they just say we will check you again in a year ! well now I have some bumps never my anus, don't know if they are warts because the numbers they gave me on my results weren't the wart kind.....I am very scared and don't know what to do....is there any advise out there for me ? Should they be doing something for me ? I did have precancerous cells and had treatment for that over 5 years ago but that was when I had ins. so they did lazer surgery chemo && then they took the top half off my vaginal....so I have had alot done but now should they be helping me with this high risk hpv? PLEASE HELP ! ! !

If you have high risk some doctors may watch it and some will do a surgery to remove it. It is generally preferred you get paps more often than once a year though. I understand if you do not have insurance this might be hard, but I bet there is someplace you can go to get checked more often. As far as things you can do to try to stop the HPV infection - boost your immune system - take a multivitamin, take extra folic acid (up to 2 grams per day), eat well, do not smoke (makes you cervix kind of like a perti dish for HPV to grow), rest, and exercise - all of this helps your body fight the infection which is the only true way to stop it.

thank you for answering....sad thing is I already had precancerous cell they did lazer surgery, chemo and then took the top half of my vagina...so it does worry me that now i don't have ins. I went to a clinic that does check ups for women you know papsmearsand mamograms....but this is the second year that it came back high risk with the HPV strains detected 16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,68....and told me come back next year....i also told the dr. that I am very raw up inside me....so she is refering me to the county hospital, that has been over a month now ?

I would try your best to find someplace to help with treatment. The rawness probably has nothing to do with HPV, but you never know for sure. If it is high risk though you probably need to at least have another pap in 6 months.
