I know the feeling... Whenever I feel a cold approaching, I take loads of Vitamin C (up to 4 g a day), and some immunity booster (I take Septilin, 6 pills a day, divided in 2 doses - the recommended dosage is 4: 2 pills twice daily, but when I feel I'm getting it, I take more) and some nose drops, called "First Aid", that make me nose really really runny for a couple of hours, but they claim to prevent the installation of the cold, and from my experience, I tend to believe that.

Also, drink lots of liquids (hot chamomille tea with honey and lemon is the best, chamomille is a known natural antiseptic) and don't exert yourself.

I also tried some homeopathic remedies, like Oscillococcinum from Boiron, which you can also take after the cold/flu has fully developped, and it's supposed to help you get rid of it faster.

Hot baths are also efficient. Stay in a warm room, and try to get as much sleep as you can, to allow your body to recharge with energy and fight against the germs.

Gesundheit!

you answered your own question. the cold is the cure. it's the body's way of sloughing off toxins. get more sleep. if that's not feasible, get a hypnosis cd for insomnia. an hour of hypnosis is worth 8 hours of sleep. I would never dream of taking sleeping pills!! put the cd on at night when you go to bed and you will wake up feeling refreshed. drink plenty of H2O to flush out toxins and hydrate your cells, fresh fruit and veggies. I am never sick and never take drugs. hope this helps. km
