MDJunction to me

jenniferdiva"MDJunction has been just an amazing support for me. The people who are on mdj are so nice! Unlike the many other support sites that I have been on. I have made several friends on mdj who are so supportive and so educated about mental illness. Of course non of us are doctors, but we certainly offer each other hugs, opinions, and advice. I have learned a great deal from my friends on mdjunction. I am also encouraging other people who suffer from mental illness to come on to MDJ. It can be a life line." (jenniferdiva)

Last night Hubby fell on ice took the force of the fall on his elbow .

We have no health insurance so only seek outside medical attention if it can not be avoided.I had dried some comfrey leaves.so I made a compress elevated his poor swollen arm and joy of joys he fell asleep in his recliner compress in place. This morning the arm is sore a little bruising much less swollen and he says hurts much less he has fairly good range of motion. So I will definitely use the comfrey in this way again!!!

Gee I forgot I also used Reiki which is something I do almost automatically.

Oh Smiley Cindy I am a collector of books especially plant books This house is overflowing with wonderful books.afew i really like

The ultimate book of herbs & Herb Gardening By Jessica Houdret

Rosemary Gladstar's Family Herbal

The complete book of Herbs a practical guide to growing and using Herbs By Lesley Bremness

The Village Herbalist by Nancy and Michael Phillips

The Medicinal Garden How to grow and use your own medicinal herbs by Ann Mc Intyre

Some of these may be out of print but often if you go to half.com you can find all sorts of books at VERY reasonable prices. I search thrift shop book sections and have found some treasures there too a recent one I found just the other day [in a bag full for $2.00]

Building Healthy Gardens a safe and natural approach By Catharine Osgood Foster has a nice herb section and great pictures havent read much of it yet but it looks promising!!!

I'm an Advocate

My fave is "The Herbal Drugstore" by Linda B. White, M.D., and Steven Foster and the staff of Herbs for Health! Smile
Just because it's impossible doesn't mean it can't happen.

I'm not a doc, so anything I say is my opinion only. Nothing I say is meant as offense, I offer what I can as help. I believe in educating myself on all my medical issues and being my own advocate, for no one else with do that on my behalf. I recommend we all do the same!

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Perhaps I truly am insane for expecting these docs to listen to me when I say the same things repeatedly to no avail? LOL. I am tired of seeking out new docs and getting the same result time and again...Forgive me if I seem bitter some days.

Something has changed within me/Something is not the same/I'm through with playing by/The rules of someone else's game/Too late for second-guessing/Too late to go back to sleep/It's time to trust my instincts/Close my eyes and leap...I'm through accepting limits/Cuz someone says they're so/Some things I can not change/But till I try I'll never know/Too long I've been afraid of/Losing love I guess I lost/Well if that's love/It comes at much too high a cost/I'd sooner buy Defying Gravity/Kiss me good-bye I'm Defying Gravity/I think I'll try Defying Gravity/And you won't bring me down...
