Hi! My name is Kathy Moore! I'm your guide for the newly created Holistic Forum on MDjunction. If you read my profile, you know that I'm a hypnotist and motivational speaker. I am also a member of San Antonio's Wellness Center. In our center, besides hypnosis, we offer, herbs, acupuncture, massage, Reiki, reflexology, Ion Cleanse Foot Baths, therapeutic clay treatments, aromatherapy, Body Talk, Psych-K, kinesiology, quantum biofeedback, homeopathy and more.

The most vital difference between holitic and Western allopathic medicine,in my opinion, is the primary supposition behind each. In allopathy, the belief is: The body gets diseased. The doctor finds a cure which is outside the person.

In holistic medicine, the belief is: The power to heal is inside each of us. No healing occurs unless we, as individuals, allow it.

Therefore, in this center, our goal is to teach our clients to empower their own health. Does that mean we put ourselves out of business? Sometimes. When a client REALLY GETS that s/he is in charge of his/her own health, they don't really need us, except maybe as consultants. Even though I get it, I still go to Sam for herbs and for VoiceBio, Ernie for acupuncture, Alicia for colon hydrotherapy, Karen for quantum biofeedback and so on.

Another chief difference between holistic and allopathic, in my viewpoint, is that holistic is preventative. See, the reason I'm never sick, is because I'm constantly eating real food (lots of vegetables), detoxing my system of impurities and finding ways to be happy and to reduce my stress levels. Anyone can do that!!

My purpose in helping to create this forum is to help each of you find your own solutions and empower your own health. Please don't hesitate to email me or visit my website at www.mooreinspire.com. As this forum progresses, I will be offering you suggestions for websites that I find particularly helpful from practitioners I trust and suggestions for techniques you can try to make improvements in your life-- body, mind, emotions and spirit.

I look forward to working with each of you.

Kathy Moore
