I just wanted to introduce myself. I was diagnosed in 2006 with HIV...my everything fell apart...the minutes that went by created a scream that my soul has yet dismissed...

I am doing well. I work and I play...and I live...I refuse to let this disease take away the person that I am...

But at the same time...I feel so alone...and I know that I am not alone...I just don't know anyone else like me...

I have handled this with the support of a handful of friends, but for the most part not many people know that I am Positive...

I find that I want to tell people but I am afraid of their reaction...I love to be loved...I dont' want to be hated....

So, I figure that this is as good a place as any to meet others who have the same fear/conditon...

God bless you for holding it together yourself, but you don't have to. I'm a 52 year young heterosexual woman and I've been positive since 1998. I too tried to be strong and do it all myself, but it really is easier when you seek support. I understand the fear of disclosing, I've been publicly ridiculed, refused service at a bar, but have also found that when I disclosed to a potential partner, they never judged me.

I'm glad you found this site, hopefully I can be of support.
