High Cholesterol Support Group

I have very high cholestrol and Im a 47 yr old woman. The doctor put me on Zocor and I broke out in hives then he put me on Lipitor and I had muscle aches. Now they put me on Fenofibrate generic for Tricor about two weeks ago and I wanted to know what kind of side effects does anyone have on this drug?

I am new to the group as well. I am looking for some friends for support . I am not on any meds yet cause I have borderline high cholesterol. I am headed that route though cause it is hard for me to stop the fatty foods and sweets. How long have you had high cholesterol? Did you change your diet when you found out you had high cholesterol?

Hi Rose I am on meds and have been since I was 21, I am now 45. I am on lipitor I have had an eating disorder most of my life so if I had to eat different foods I would have never eaten anything. Unfortunately my high cholesterol is hereditory and not to do with diet. Although I know eating healthy is the right thing to do... My cousin had her first H/A at 21 so it does worry me... I have recently given up smoking so I think that is a start..
