I am editing this post as it was incomplete and therefore somewhat confusing for new members.

I've tried this! It does gradually make symptoms better. I'd suggest it as well.

When you wrote "HS is high in bacteria. So it is very important to make sure your bath water has something in it other than the Epsom salt" what do you mean? ---I'm sorry for what may seem like a dumb question...but my boyfriend has been recently diagnosed and i'm trying to find solutions/treatments to help him w/ pain and boils. I'm not sure what shutterbug meant, maybe a few drops of bleach? I don't use anything like that, and it has never made any difference. I shower most of the time anyway and still get flares. And, HS to begin with isn't filled with bacteria according to the Mayo Clinic, but does when secondary infection sets in which causes the abcesses. Antibiotics don't work well for HS but can fight the secondary infection.

I used to take bleach-baths (doctor recommended) and it did nothing except over-dry my skin so I developed eczema in addition to the HS. I believe she told me to try the bleach baths to minimize the bacteria levels on my skin. This was LONG before I was officially diagnosed with HS, when I was in more of a "let's try this & see if it works" phase. I was never fond of the idea in the first place, so when I developed eczema also, I was done with the bleach baths all together. <3 Candace

Can I ask what your diet is? I know you say gluten free but what exactly does that mean? I mean, what do you eat and how do you tailor your diet? I'm willing to try anything that is relatively easy to manage and afford. Thank you so much for sharing!

Steph

Great news! I'm going to try and work my food intake around gluten free and add tumeric too. I'll try anything! Thanks again for sharing!

I am so happy for you that the gluten free diet is working for you. I wish it would work for me. I will have to try some turmeric.
