The Preacher's Donkey

A man bought a donkey from a preacher. The preacher told the man that this donkey had been trained in a very unique way, (being the donkey of a preacher). The only way to make the donkey go, was to say, "Hallelujah!" The only way to make the donkey stop, was to say, "Amen!"

The man was pleased with his purchase and immediately got on the animal to try out the preacher's instructions. "Hallelujah!" shouted the man. The donkey began to trot. "Amen!" shouted the man. The donkey stopped immediately. "This is great!" said the man. With a "Hallelujah," he rode off very proud of his new purchase.

The man traveled for a long time through some mountains. Soon he was heading toward a cliff. He could not remember the word to make the donkey stop. "Stop," said the man. "Halt!" he cried. The donkey just kept going. "Oh, no... Bible!....Church!...Please Stop!!" shouted the man. The donkey just began to trot faster. He was getting closer and closer to the cliff edge. Finally, in desperation, the man said a prayer. "Please, dear Lord. Please make this donkey stop before I go off the end of this mountain, In Jesus name, AMEN."

The donkey came to an abrupt stop just one step from the edge of the cliff.

"HALLELUJAH!", shouted the man.

I am in alot of pain..HS is pummeling my left side-internally..been awhile since I cried.

I did the other day..and I rarely say I am scared..did that as well.

My hubby's ears pricked up..he knows me well..and this alarmed him.

I am attempting to do a body soak. Got to take down that inflammation.

I am sorry to hear about the breast ones for you..I was hoping that you got away lucky...fat chance..tho.

So sorry.

Lets shake a fist at the HS pain ...lol.

I will have to go now..and explain to hubby why I umm how I forgot to keep up with the vitamins this week.

LOL.so if you don't hear from me..well that is because I am in the dog house and I am being subjected to the finger wag & disappointed look.

I deserve it..all my posting flack of get vitamins and good food...you would think I would know better. LOL

It is a scary thing to deal with so much pain and I know you do everything you can to try to keep the HS under control...... So you forgot the vitamins I forget alot too, We try so many things but sometimes HS just gets the upper hand till we beat it down again.

Hugs shutter, I am sorry that your hurting so bad, tell the hubby that if he shakes that finger at you too much you are going to bite it..lol.. hope you are able to get it down and under control soon, please remember to take the vitamins.. we need to do all we can to control this.. mine is still touchy, but after getting a good rest yesterday, it seems to be calming down a little..

Did you know that some of these free Ecard places have a set up where you can schedule Ecard for in the future? you can always set them up to send you a Ecard each day reminding you to take your vitamins, of course this will only work if you are on the computer each day..

Thanks so much Carmen & Bella for the kind words.

Yep..I forgot or maybe I was just sick of taking a handful of vitamins in pill form.

Not a pill popper..never liked it. Even hard for me to stay on the painkillers that were prescribed. However I voluntarily took myself off of one of the two painkillers they were eager to give me. Did that about a month or so after my surgery. Just stayed with the one.

I do know that I am human..and will fall sometimes. I do pick myself back up and dust myself off..then try ..try again.

So..lol..I shall collect the vitamin packs and set up my vitamins for the week..and take them.

I do as much as I can to battle the HS..not just for me..but for my little family.

No kids..but I have 3 cats that were all street cats, and the hubby. All of them depended on me ( I know many women out there can relate) and when HS gets me..I feel I let them down.

Can you say I take my duties ...lol..a little too seriously? I think its more down to just trying to be normal again. We all worked hard at our jobs then took care of things at home. Before we were doing that as somewhat healthy people.

It was a blow to the ego to be chucked into this scenario. <- Not sure if that is correct..but there are a ton of confusing emotions out there while being ill.

Although with HS..I met some really great people here. That has been wonderful. Free to be me and free to feel the ups and downs of being ill..without judgement.

To me..that has been worth everything. Sorry we all had to meet under these conditions, but thank you all for the great place.

Thanks for the Ecard info. I have a calendar in my computer that will email my arse..or honk a horn at me lol.

I didn't so much as forget..but staged my own protest against being ill etc.

LOL..I know..picture a 5yr old pulling a tantrum. That was me..just multiply the age by 7 times lol. I do it now and then lol..I rather just take the vitamins because I am healthy and want to stay that way. I know..its not rational..lol..but some days you can go loopy..

I did bite the hubby lol...just to lighten the situation. He is a quiet guy..funny to see him get curious about my vitamin intake. He can tell when I am lying. He also knows that I have put alot of time in on the research, so I should know better.

He can also tell when I have had enough of HS.

I am laughing at my stubbornness..as HS is equally stubborn. LOL.

Carmen..if you can..shred some carrot..just one carrot. Apply it right to the bumpie on the breast. Whatever way you wish to keep it on there. Get it on..if you can..rest or read a book for an hour. After removal you will see some grey or white spots on the carrot..that would be what it drew out. The less HS ooze you have in there the better. You will heal faster.

Thanks for the reminder on the carrot, had forgotten that one, and you are right about this site, it's wonderful having people that can understand where you are at, I don't blame you on the pill popping, have always hated it myself, growing up my mom's cure for death was taking two aspirin lol..

After getting the diagnosis of the diabetes, and having to take meds, I came to accept it, not to mention all the other things i have going on as well, as many of you do too.. depression, frustration and anger are all common among HS Sufferers, we have been thrown into the fire, and don't know why or how we came to get there.. our egos are bruised by the not being able to work or function like others, we have the stigma of people just plain out not understanding as our disease is one that others can't see if we are not willing to let them see, I have since gotten over that embarrassment and will drop my pants in a heart beat or lift my shirt..lol.. so what if I gross them out, as there isn't much of another option to getting them to understanding.

I would have loved to see the look on hubby's face when you bit him.. did he crack up? I know he should have..I would..

Your not throwing a tantrum, if you do though, lay down in the floor and kick and scream..make it a good one.. I was on suicide watch with a friend and she was having a tantrum, I laughed at her and told her if she wanted to have one, to do that... she got over it.. you know what you need to do, but you also have the right to just say to hell with it, but you need to realize the consequences of your actions..

It is tricky with other ailments involved. You hit the nail on the head with depression, frustration & anger.

Lol...will remember to do full tantrums..lol.

Really they are up in my head. I just put my forehead out and say I would like a break. Then I don't take the vitamins..and HS wins. So in the end I pay the price.

Uhh...I bite him often lol..out of fun. While I was in healthier days..he would bite back. When I bite him, he knows I am myself. Playful and not testy due to HS.

HS decided to give me a new lump right on one of the old tracks. You know the small dark spot on the outside..but underneath its the size of a golfball. Pushing on stuff on my insides. Cannot lean forward in a sitting position and cannot bend at all. You all know the drill.

I am combatting it..soaked yesterday and hitting a poultice today with hubby around.

Thinking of you..did you have to deal w/brother's move?
