So, I am very excited... but am not "officially" allowed to announce it on FB yet-so I will share it with my HS family: I got a promotion at my firm!!! W00t

I am going from working as a mail clerk in the mail room, aka the lowest rung on the ladder at the firm- to being a "Paralegal Secretary." I am stoked! I will get my own desk (currently I have to share with my co-worker) my own office/area (currently I share with two other people) a hefty raise & more $ donated into my 401K! I am super happy! Plus, I get to listen whatever music that I want to (instead of having to compromise... and jeez I hate country ha!) and take a lunch break whenever I want to (instead of waiting until my co-worker comes back or vise-versa) All-in-all, it will be a great opportunity to rise up out of the rut I was stuck in. I was so pleased to hear my boss say the words "We always prefer to promote from within & every single Senior Partner in the firm suggested/recommended you first & it was instantly unanimous. You are one of the biggest assets to our firm." I feel so great because I have only been here two years & stomped some of who have been here for a decade-ha! Plus I did not think I would be eligble since I am about to be out on maternity leave- but they do not mind me taking as long as I need off to spend time with my baby girl. Kissing

Ok, I am done bragging now... but I had to share the great news because I could not keep it in anymore! <3 Candace

Awsome news Candace!!! I started in the mail room too (literally) (many many years ago) and worked my way to "Controller" (title not pay - small co.) in the Accounting field. Don't feel bad about "tooting your horn a little when you deserve it -- you worked hard (we hs people know how hard) I actually worked in litigation (for a CPA) figuring out how much who owes who. It was fun and challenging. Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Thank you everyone! I get to begin training on Monday, as well as training my new replacement (once they hire someone for the position) so this transition is already up & running! W00t <3 Candace

So I have "officially" started training this week in my new position! Laughing This is why I have not been online recently. I am still having to go back & forth between my old station & my new desk (which of course have to be on different floors!) to assist in training the replacement for my old position & getting her squared away. Anyway, so far I LOVE it & the 3 ladies that I work for LOVE me so it's all going to work out. Laughing Not to mention that the firm does not expect me to "know everything" required for this new position until after I get back from maternity leave so for the meantime, I am just learning as I go & tackling any tasks that I am confident in doing right now.
