Im 29 and from ky a house wife of 2 1/2 children. I am currently 20wks and 4 days preggers with another beautiful girl Smile I made a mistake and wore jean maternity shorts that rubbed my upper thigh and tadaa another cyst has popped up about the size of a quarter right now. Going to buy some of that tto and see if it helps. As for what I put before about the c-section i have had one pop up on my scar from other births but it just was small and went away before i really noticed it,if u have had c-sections u know the feeling of numbness around the scar so my husband noticed before i did. But right now my butt and thigh area keep bouncing back and forth with hs and it hurts..at least i can waddle and say its my big belly. My family is supportive but sometimes they wanna see like im a freak show. But growing up with vitiligo im used to people looking so with this they cant see it if i dont show it,haha. But unlike vitiligo it hurts and causes me to have anxiety, lose sleep and feel way out of touch with my body. Im glad to talk to someone who can relate and hear ideas it really truly does help.

Hi Haley! Smile Sending a big welcome to the group. Hi to the 2 1/2 little ones too. lol

Glad you are here and I know how much being in touch with others who understand what it 's like to have HS means. I still don't know anyone in person who has it. No matter how much my family or friends try and understand, they just can't. Who could?!!

Hope your flares stop soyou can get some rest. I remember how much I needed that while pregnant. LOL, it has been over 40 years but yes, I remember like it was yesterday.

Don't hesitate to join in the conversations or start one of your own if it addresses something different than the existing threads. Smile Karen

Welcome Haley, what a pretty name, I have a niece named Haley. Congrats on the little one to come. I remember those days too, like Karen, I am past that period of my life, but I am raising one grandchild, and she definately keeps me young. I have HS on my groin, thighs and buttox and sad to say "I waddle alot and I am not even pregnant" Smile tto has help me and so has this group. My depression has definately improved by venting a little and reaching out. Glad to have you in our group.

Thanks,I went to walmart yesterday to buy some tto but they didn't carry it. Guess I will try the pharmacy next. I am also trieng hand sanitizer and it seems to help a little. Usually I would try cortisone cream i think is what it's called and it seems to help also even tho i was told it wouldn't by my doc. I say anything is better then all the antibiotics they shove down ur throat. I did read where some poeple said tto oil burns, does that mean i should dilute it? I have vitiligo so my skin is sensitive anyways.

good morning Haley, I always get my tto at Wally's but maybe the stopped carrying it? Glad I have an extra bottle. I only use the 100% and I dip a q-tip or cotton ball in water then in the tto, depending on how big the area is I'm treating. It will sting if there is any opening in a lesion, but it passes pretty quickly. Just depends on your tolerance for pain I think.

I don't take my antibiotic unless one starts to abcess due to an secondary infection. I mostly avoid those any more by the faithful use of hand sanitizer and tto. And now the prescription steroid cream, Triamcinalone. I haven't used that long enough to know how long it will continue to help. The otc ones never helped me. I doubt it will be a magic bullet, but hey, if something keeps my flares from blowing up, and from itching and burning, I will do it for however long it works. Smile

You will just need to experiment with the tto and see how your skin reacts to it. If you don't get a bad skin reaction, I hope you will be able to get used to the stinging. It only hurts for a little while, and I've adopted the attitude that if it stings it just means it's working. LOL like my Granny used to tell me about Iodine. :-0

Hello, as u can see im up late, been having trouble sleeping, pregnancy I guess. Well I live in a small town and our walmart never has what other walmarts do,which stinks. Im good when it comes to pain, these things hurt enough so in a way this will be a good pain. Well the only thing I grew up seeing Iodine used on was animal wounds and in my moms tanning lotion,,baby oil and iodine lol. Which to this day I have no idea how that helped her tan. Thanks for the info on how to use tto oil and what percent, I had never even thought of trieng that Smile

Hello Hayley & congrats on the baby girl! I am also having a baby girl & currently 29 weeks pregnant (only 11 more to go!) My HS was pretty managable during the beginning of my pregnancy with only a few small aliens appearing here & there... but now with the Oklahoma heat being steady over 100 degrees, the aliens are showing up in full force to make me even more miserable than I already am! Devil

I also wanted to let you know that IDK if you have any sort of health food store around, but I bought my TTO at Whole Foods. I typically use it in the bath & it soothes all of my skin, not just the lesions. I put about 8 droplets into a full bath of water & it creates a soothing aroma for me to relax in... (I know others, like Karen, cannot stand the smell but I love it!) If it does sting, it should not last very long... kinda like the sting that you get when you put peroxide on an owie... hehe. Silly

Well, it's so nice to meet you & I hope to hear from you again soon. I hope that you can get some sleep: I read about you guys hitting a heat wave as well...ugh! <3 Candace
