Hi everyone! My name is Tracy and I am from NJ. My husband has been suffering with HS stage four under both armpits for 2 years now. We are going to see Dr Hazen in July and hopefully do surgery in November! I really hope this helps him. Anyone get the laser surgery from him? So glad I found this forum Smile

Welcome to the group Tracy.Smile So sorry your husband has suffered for so long with HS but happy for him that he is going to see Dr. Hazen.

Several of our members have now had surgery or other treatments by dr. Hazen. There are posts in the General and Support forum as well as the Medicine and Treatment forum that will lead you to those who have. I'm sure they will be checking in soon to see what's happenin here, and will be replying to your question.

Dove's husband has had extensive laser surgery by Dr. Hazen and she has kept a very good record of his before and during recovery with pictures on her profile. He is still recovering and has one more surgery scheduled I believe, and he is doing very well.

It may be slow on the site during the upcoming holiday so please don't get discouraged if you don't hear much until the end of the week. There are some wonderfully supportive and freindly people in our group.

Have a great holiday and I so hope you are where your husband can stay cool. I know the heat is horrible out there right now and heat and humidity is so rough for HSers.

Smile Karen

Hello Tracy & welcome to our little family! Laughing I would agree with Karen, in saying that Doves (Melissa) would be the best person to speak to about not only being a supportive spouce of an HS sufferer, but that her hubby, Clarence, has had a few surgeries performed by Dr. Hazen.

Several others have also had other procedures done by Dr. Hazen and his team. Let us know any questions that you (or your hubby) may have for us. ::hugs:: and again, welcome! <3 Candace

Welcome Tracy and glad you found this cite too. Please keep us posted as to your hubby's progress with Dr. Hazen. Several others have posted their experiences with him and they have been very encouraging and hopefully someday I can go to him too. We have a lot of experienced ones in our group like Karen, Candace and Cal and new ones like me and and others who are still learning. I find alot of helpful suggestions and sometimes it helps to just vent. Glad to have you join us.

Also, IndianaMom was one of the other HS suffer'ers who recently underwent surgery with Dr. Hazen. Perhaps she would be able to offer advice & answer any questions that you have. Tongue <3 Candace

Hello everyone! Thanks so much for your responses! It's so great to have this. It us such a terrible disease to deal with. My poor husband says it's all he thinks of 90% of his day Sad I hate that there is no cure! It seems like this day in age there def should be. I just wake up every day and wish it was all just a terrible dream. I will keep you guys posted

I felt like that at first too - It was a shock and I went into a depression. But being in this group helped soooo much. Reaching out and knowing you are not alone and that with a louder voice as a group this disease may get more attention from doctors and there may be a cure someday in the future.
