The left side of my face is hurting. Feels like some one is rubbing sand paper on my skin! It also hurts when I smile and blink. This is the same side I have a black spot on my cheek (break out due to HS). Has any one had the same problem?

Not on my face yet - but close to my hairline and ears. And yes - unexplained hurting - I thought I was going crazy or psyco, but too smart for that -- lets log this for future reference. Hope it subsides soon and doesn't last long.

I have personally not had anything like this happen to me, but I have noticed that when I was a teen- my face was clear as day! Then as soon as my HS started getting out of control (around age 21) I started getting horrible facial acne... and now that I am pregnant (at almost age 28) I am getting really bad breast acne (TMI) ugh! What's up with that? Tongue <3 Candace

I have giants breakouts on my face each time I have a flare up which is about 2 times a month right now. They generally pop up around my mouth, chin, and my hair line. They get so inflamed that they hurt terribly. I know how you feel. for sure.. I usually put ice on them until it numbs it down pretty good. I definitely suggest you not push or poke at them. It only makes them worse. <-- from experience.. Also make sure that you use a face wash that is good for taking out the redness or inflammation in your face. I use Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit facial cleanser. It doesn't make the HS go away of course but it does help with the facial discomfort. I hope you are feeling better soon.

oh my Chrys just saw your pics, yes they both look like HS from what ive seen on hubby and step daughters, Clarence has had a few spots show up near his ears or on his ears but they gave him a wash to use when they happen to quickly get rid of them. when he gets home ill ask him what he uses as its upstairs and i dont do stairs yet. but any 10 % benzoyl peroxide would work. if its too harsh for your skin you could always go down in the percentage.

Panoxyl is a 10% benzoyl peroxide wash you can use to help dry out the hs on your face or anywhere on your body. You can find it at any drug store or superstore for about 10 dollars. My target has been out of it the last two times I've been, so I've been getting it from Kroger. Look for it with other facial cleansers, or sometimes stores will keep it back at the pharmacy so just ask the pharmacist. Smile Hoping you feel better! ~Stacy

Chrys- I would also look into a lotion that does not clog the pores on your face to help reduce irritation. Sometimes the "break-out's" get clensed with a face-wash and then overdryed out and that could make the bumps themselves much worse. Sad ::hugs:: friend! <3 Candace
