Hey everyone, been a while since I have posted here, I am sorry about that, lots of things going on.

Question for you, have any of you ever had one come up on the front of your thigh? I've had them on the butt, between the legs, under the breasts and arms, but this is the first one on the front of my thigh, just popped up this afternoon, size of a large marble..and just has hot and touchy as it can get..

Got it covered at the moment with gauze and a bandaid, along with some triple antibiotic ointment, going to be fun having to work tomorrow, I don't know how long that is going to last, I have to be able to move in my job, and with this thing going it's going to be tough and painful.. work doesn't like you using pain pills, but I might not have a choice in the matter..

I'm wondering just how much stress plays in this, I've been under a huge amount of stress for the past year or so, and this is the first large one I've had pop up..generally when they do this, it's a flare that carries on for about 3 months..

If anyone can be blessed with this damned disease it's me, I don't have the frequent flares that most of you do..nor the size of some that I have seen, most of my biggest have been just duck eggs/large walnuts.. the two favorite places for them to hang out is in the creases of my thighs, and on the muscle just at the beginning of the under arm, makes walking and using your arms special. If it doesn't pop over night, then the next step for me is hot compresses, and stuff, shutter, what is that recipe again for the poultices?

Sorry to hear about the thigh breakout. Sounds painful..

Hot as well..that cannot be easy to move whether at home or on the job.

I never had one there..but I do have a 7" wound in the crease of the thigh.

I recommend the carrot poultice as it works best if you are unsure of any small punctures in the skin. If you use red grape then you can run the risk of stinging, from the acid in the fruit juice. You dont need anymore pain there....

Prep: Carrot as if you were prepping it for a carrot salad. Keep the carrot moist with its own juice or olive oil. Carrot should be moist enough to stick together then pat down into pocket of gauze.

The rest is under Medicine & Treatments...sorry if I seem lazy,it is a long explanation there. I am dealing with HS right now, so I am fatigued. But will answer any questions you have when needed.

Thanks Shutter , so far there is no breakage that I can see, never had one here either, seems weird, but it has to be one, round, hard, hot as hell and purple, just like the others have been..I laid down for a nap yesterday with out one, and woke up 3 hours later with this damned marble on my leg.. it seems to be shrinking without breaking but the redness starting to spread out from it has me a little worried.. so will keep a eye on that, are you going to a wound clinic for that gash? if not you should be, I've heard great things about them, one of the ladies talked about some kind of wound vac they put on them to help them heal..

I'll check out the recipe, you rest right now, that is the best thing for you, I made it through work today, but had to have pain pills just to manage, and now I am feeling sick at my stomach from taking those.. Hugs my friend.

Hey Carmen..

I am sorry that bugger came, lets hope it doesnt settle in for long. Sneaky for it to come while you sleep. That is always a nice surprise.

I do hope relief comes soon for you.

They come fast and furious ..dont they? Alot of medical personnel and those close to me never believe it. Until I started showing them. Something along the lines of yep, it wasn't here in the morning but there is one here this afternoon.

Tried the wound vac and I heard great things. My gashes were too large. We are on our own now and I plan on hitting a different wound clinic for assistance.

I am not looking forward to dealing w/medical personnel...lol

Back to you...that bites about the pain pills. You need them but can't function under that kind of pain & stress. Make sure you take it while eating something. I know that cannot be easy to do if you are at work.

Even half a sandwich would do the trick during lunch break.

You are in my thoughts today. I wish a good week for you Carmen and may that bumpie not stay.

Thanks Shutter, it's trying to go away, not as fast as it came up, but going none the less, I am wondering since this one didn't pop, where the "H" does the stuff go? like it or not, if I get one in the crease of my thigh the boss is going to have to deal with the fact I am not coming in.. there is a certain amount of movement in my job, even if I have a seat to prop on I still have to move, so working on my feet is out of the question..

Been keeping triple antibiotic ointment on it, along with a bandage or gauze to cut down on rubbing, so that is helping, but I am sure you know how fun it is to try and tape up the nether regions.

I hope that the new wound clinic can help some, it's tough I know for you to try and get those puppies to heal..

Hey Carmen,

Keep us posted about the triple antibiotic and how it helps you heal. Or anything out of the ordinary you notice while using the antibiotic.

I am curious to see how yours reacts to it. I do hope for relief for you so lets hope it reacts well and quickly.

Well...I do have the clinic, they need doc. referral. He should sign off on it. I was just avoiding him and anyone in a white coat..lmao

Shutter, as much as we might hate seeing the guys in the white coats, we have too, s they are the access to the medical care that we need, use to piss mine off as I told him once, the only reason I was seeing him is cause I needed his signature on the prescription pads.. lol....

The triple antibiotic ointment seems to work very well with my aliens, keeps them from getting infected, gives a lubricant base between the alien and the bandage, so it is less likely to stick to it.. I apply the ointment to the bandage its self rather than the alien, mainly to avoid cross contamination.

So much for not busting, took off the bandage last night and found blood on it, should have known anyway that it had, as I felt a stabbing pain there yesterday during work, that is generally the indication that I have that one has come to a head and popped.. not as much blood and gore at least than the others.. I put a actual bandaid on it a couple of times, I should know better, me and bandaids and certain types of tape just do not get along, it causes the skin to blister, so it's back to gauze and this tape I found.. think it is put out by 3M, the medicine shoppe where I use to get it, no longer carries it, so now I have to look for a new source, the medicine shoppe where I did get it is looking for a new rep to get it again, lol, helps when the owner is a personal friend.. if they find it, I am going to have to buy two cases of it, incase something happens, thankfully I have two rolls of it right now, I think that I have tried just about everything out there on the market..

I've tried the neosporin, doesn't do a darn thing for them, tried the boil ease, doesn't work either..just about all of the different bandages they have on the shelves, there is one, put out by Johnson and Johnson that I can use, but it's 5.00 for 10 little bandages, and working on a very tight budget, can't afford to get those when I am in flare, I go through too many..

Feeling much better today, just trying to survive the rest of the week, have friday off and not much on the schedule to do, so it's going to be hanging out in the computer room, or watching TV for me most of the day..

Anyone else have tested treatments they have tried? we all know that most of the treatments the doctors have don't work a lick..
