About 2 years ago I was diagnosed with a Hiatal Hernia because I was having a hard time swallowing and was choking when eating. I was also having heartburn. So the doctor did a stretching of the esophagus where the hernia was, which I never knew could be done. He told me that I may one day need to have surgery on it. I think that day has come. I am having extremely bad pain while I eat and swallow. The pain is like a knife is piercing me in my diaphragm/chest and goes into my back. So I am having this terrible pain to the point where I am not even wanting to eat anymore. A few days ago, I finally broke down and called the doctor because I just can't take it any more. I take Zantac for the relief twice a day. The problem is that I waited to long to call the dr. He can not see me until January 6th. So I suffer while waiting to see him. No Way!!! Unfortunately, I could not wait. I spent the entire day in the hospital getting tests done. To make it worse I was sent home knowing what is wrong and with no treatment except more anti acid meds. Oh yeh and on a slim fast diet. YUCK!!!!! I have to call the specialist in the morning, tell him that I was in the hospital all day, schedule an appointment to see him in the office. Then he will schedule the procedure. Meanwhile, I suffer and can not eat. I am so hungry and the slim fast only diet just don't get it. I wish I has some relief. I tried to eat applesauce and I even had problems with that. No matter what I swallow I am in pain. Even the slim fast bothers me. I am so bummed out. Just wish I had a dr that could help me now and not a few days or a week from now. This is crazy. Any suggestions would be nice. I am ready to give up!!!!!
