Chiropractor and self massage, my experiences

New to this but desperate for relief I tried self massage and did go visit a chiro for an adjustment.

I has some relief with the massage. I was desperate to get the hernia out of my chest and it did help but I was very sore after one occasion I had to do it.

I went to a chiro on thursday and had a treatment. It was nothing like the YouTube vids that don't seem too horrible. It was a tremendous amount of pressure and I am still sore as well as had to fight off pretty severe panic for about a day and a half. Today, just 4 days later the hernia is back up so all that pain for nothing. I would try again with someone else who was more gentle.

Anyone else have much experience with this or have any suggestions for relief?

Hi.

It is no fun when you have put a lot of effort in to going to see a specialist only to get a non-productive outcome. The problem with the chiro is that it is not good for everyone, so we can only put down to experience, if it doesn't work.

I have been experimenting with all kinds of foods and as a result I have wittled out a lot of the things that cause me trouble. The main culprits are Potato, Pastry, Red Meat, Onion, Caffeine, Cake, Most Beers and Ciders, Wine, Burgers, and on the plus side I have no problem whatsoever with Chocolate, Fish/Prawns, Raw Vegetables, Guinness, Rice, Ice Cream, Fruit Juices, Custard, Rice Pudding.

I also found that if I drink a glass of boiled water that has cooled enough to gulp down I then get up on to my toes and let myself drop back onto my heels a few times it tends to pull the hernia back out of my chest thus giving me a few hours of reliefSmile

I hope that you can get some answers from our pages.

Take Care.

Regards.

Willow.

Thanks for the reply. I don't seem to have much luck with the water and jumping exercise. I mostly just feel rattled and when the hernia is that bad, it's really hard to squeeze any water down without chest pain and it feeling stuck.

I'm really having a tough time right now, it has come back up into my chest and is giving me neck pains among other things. I hate when it pinches off my esophagus.
