My Gastro's nurse assistant has been really great to me, she called me Friday to let me know that she expects to hear back from the drug company by Tuesday or Wednesday.

I am getting frustrated, because the other two drugs are there. They got there really quick.

I have a great Gastro, and the nurse assistant is awesome, for just calling me to let me know where we are with regard to starting the treatment.

So, I am assuming that the drug invicek is on back order or something. That is something that I will have to google.

If I see something in my research I will pass it on.

Take care of yourselves.

Sincerely,

Sabado

Could this be an insurance issue? Supply problems of Telaprevir seem quite unlikely as the drug was just approved in May & there is fierce competiton btw Vertex, makers of Telaprevir & Merck, makers of Boceprevir, to capture the Billions of dollars on the table for these drugs. I suggest calling Vertex-617-444-6100- & check if there is a supply issue.

I agree with Tim there is no supply issues with this drug,------but that said there are insurance issues, if I recall correctly you are on some sort of county insurance or disability ??? That will slow things down considerably behind the screens .

Yeah, it may be a insurance thing. I will be on the Incivek--and since I don't have traditional insurance the nurse practitioner said that I will get it for free. I went onto the website and this one offers the drug free to people without insurance, the other doesn't have a program like that--I think they have a co-pay assistance who knows. I had to call Pegassist tooo and then it arrived at my GI's the next day.

She said she expects to hear from them tues, so we will see. If not I will call them. I am tired of waiting, not like I am excited to get sicker but want to get it started so I can rid or this and go back to work.
