MDJunction to me

jayna01"My name is Jayna and I wanted to take this opportunity to say how much MDJunction has meant to me. I always felt so alone before I joined in April of 2012. I felt like there wasn't anyone that really cared about me and what I was going through. I felt like there was no one that would truly listen to me in what I was feeling. Nobody was there for me. That is before I found MDJ!

I have found and met such good people on these forums. I never ever knew there were such compassionate people before MDJ. It's also nice to know that I can come here anytime and get support for what I am feeling. I feel like I have met some wonderful life long friends. It is also an outlet for me to try and help other people that are hurting. It gives me a good feeling inside and gives me self confidence in helping other people.

I hope MDJ will be as good for you as it has been for me! Many Blessings and Much love.

This is only my second test since being diagnosed earlier this year...feeling a little more informed now that I have more ideas of where to start. Doc said so far, no need to treat because I had no damage to my liver according to bloodwork. I am still not sure if I should take her word for it or have a biopsy done. I feel fine...can't tell if my "symptoms" are the hep c or fibromyalgia.

Here's hoping I have a positive update!

Hey Pam

It’s great that your becoming more informed, the best action you can take is to educate yourself and to be your own best advocate, I applaud you for that. I do take difference to the statement from your doctor and the attitude you don’t need to treat because blood work does not warrant it. Gee’s ……..this must be a GP or a very uniform gastro doctor.

So by this rational we must wait till there is substantial damage in order to treat?

Keep in mind the longer the virus is with you the stronger it is!!!

Keep in mind there are countless health issues that go along with untreated hepc that are not fully understood but are now coming into the light, the longer the virus works it’s nastiness the more health issues you will have and most likely the one’s your experiencing are related.

Please get a biopsy, Please change doctors or get a specialist and move in a positive direction with this.

I agree get a second oppion from a gastro. Maybe you wont have to get a biopsy, there is the fibrosure test that is pretty dran accurate. Your ast and alt can be normal with damage. Besides it is easier to slay the dragon when he is small, or less copies of the virus.

If you are seeing a regular md ask her to refer you to a gastro, but do your homework call around to their office and see who txs and is fimilar with folks with hep c.

Here is the link about the fibrosure test maybe print it and give it to your doc it they arent fimilar. http://www.fairfoundation.org/news_letter/2010/02june/ Fibrosure..pdf

Thank you both so much...see I have no clue what I'm doing other than going thru the motions. I will print the info about the test and be more aggressive when asking about my liver. She's an internist or something like that and also a primary care doc. Thanks again! Smile
