Hello everyone...As you may have guessed I've been in the hospital for a little while. Last Teusday I was the walking dead as I went from one pt's home to the next. I told myself to go to the lab and get the bloodwork done that was ordered because there was something really wrong with me. Then dragged my ass to my last 2 patients, called my GI doctor and told him my stomach was being ripped apart and I felt I was going to pass out or drop on the ground. The pain in my joints was unabearable. He told me to get right to the hospital which I did there was St Vincents right near my patient and his office. I barely made it without crashed. I told my kids I was being admitted and the tests began. My Red blood cells and white blood cells were very low. They started IV's and began to hydrate me. The next day they began Epogen and Neupogen injections and did an Endoscopy which showed Gastritis. I couldn't keep food down. Came home this weekend but today is the first day I felt I could sit at the computer.

I'm freaking out because I have to put my home on the market yesturday> All the co-pays for the specialists and medicaines have eaten my reserves

So I am guessing you are on treatment. What does the dr say about that? Are you continuing on or what.

Yes the Treatment continues. I was to see the doc today but we have a severe snowstorm here in Ct and his office called early this morning to cancel. I go tomorrow. I had bloodwork done Monday and depending on the results he may lower the Interfuron dose. I'll also get my script for the latest Epogen injections

my dr refused to low the meds and continue treatment or use any rescue meds. he would give me any reason other than everything happened to fast. Shouldnt see any response/drop in blood counts for 3 mths. How long have you been taking the treatment? about a month?

eif I still think its very weird, that your Dr took you off and did not lower dose or give you anything to bring up the low Blood Cells. My WBC count went down real fast and I was put on Neupogen. When RBC went down I was put on Procrit. I am still taking both. My counts are not raising, but at least there not dropping any more. My last WBC was 1.8. Also my interferon is still the same. Have you seeked out other options or to talk with another HCV DR.?

Virginia I am so sorry that things are not gett better. Its good you are feeling better, since your admit. I hope you continiue to get better. Keep us informed.

There must have been a misunderstanding. I am still on meds and now have to do the Epogen injection as well. If Neutrophils are just below 1000 they will continue the neupogen injections as well

I have not been off the Neupogen almost 3 months. My levels still have not come up.
