Due to help from people here and a lot of work I feel like I've made a lot of progress and my life is the best it has ever been. Not in any sort of manic way but a real honest ,good way. I know things can change so I am taking it day by day.

I'm getting very positive results in life.I've stopped trying to have a serious relationship and have just been making friends. It's working great. I get a lot of attention and positive feedback. I've finally stopped trying to relive the events of the relationship that did not work out. I can't undo it so I am enjoying the present.

I have a succesful business, enough money for now, security, self-respect, true friends, love of family, enough affection, and decent health.

This site and all of you really work. I know I'll have my down moments but right now I'm savoring the good things. Thank you all and I wish you the best.

P.S. I think the main things that help are praticing loving myself, having gratitude, and practicing positive thinking. These all greatly affect relationships in life. Thanks for letting me ramble.

Spencer it brought me great pleasure to read those words from you. I am so happy that you are focusing on making friends instead of trying to have a relationship.

It sounds like you are pretty successful and that is great! Where are you meeting these new friends?

Thanks for your support. I hope you're in good spirits.

Basically I have found that a lot of people out there are themselves looking to have fun and make friends. For example; I play in a Sunday softball league with a good group of guys where we all have a beer together after the game, I'm in a hiking group where socializing is a big part of it, I've formed great relationships with real nice people through our Rotary Club, I joined a very active singles group where I'm having fun and starting to make friends, and I am also fortunate to still have old friends from 40 years ago whom I see every now and then.

Socializing is a very important part of a quality life. The truth is that there are many good, normal, healthy people out there looking to make friends. It takes time to make real friends but you have to start somewhere.

I would suggest just find something you like to do and go have fun.

I agree that a healthy social life is a key to a good healthy long life. I need to get out and socialize more. I do have my own meetup group where I hang out with new people. Meetup.com is a great place to meet new friends. I am glad that you are meeting new friends.
